 5TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER & 2011 AGM

This year, we had our 5th Anniversary Dinner and AGM at Golden Sea City restaurant in Richmond, BC. It was a great success!  The food was great. The performance was excellent. And the prizes were endless! Everyone had a great time! We got the opportunity to see what the students have learned throughout the year. It was amazing how much all the students have matured and improved; even the karate kids.

A special thanks to Uchiage Sensei, Hayashi Shihan, Alan Chan Sensei, Sunday Lau Sensei, Mr. Brian Hampson and Mr. Henry Beh as our special guests. Also, thank you for all parents and friends who showing their support to our growing association and for spending extra time with us. We definitely look forward to the next Anniversary Dinner and AGM.

2011 PROMOTION TEST #1

Outside temperature near 9 degrees, inside temperature at 26 degrees what could be causing all the heat? ....It's the first promotion test of the year 2011 for the Shoseikan Canada Vancouver Branch here at the Honbu dojo in Richmond.
This year is extra special as we have Shihan Alan Chan, as guest examiners for this promotion test. Tensions of muscles tighten and nervousness rising as the clock ticks away our last minutes before the test begins. Everyone was very quiet and not very comfortable talking to each other very much as they wait expecting torture to fall upon them for the next 3 and a half hours of Kihon, Movement, Kata, and Kumite are tested one after another. OUR SEEDS ARE GROWING - by Peggy Chan

On November 19th, 2010, the Karate Kidsˇ¦ very first promotion test finally took place! Every student got really excited and couldnˇ¦t wait for their lesson to begin.

The Karate Kids seemed to take todayˇ¦s lesson even much more seriously than usual. They all followed the instructions and mastered the basic skills without too much struggle.

Eventually, all the little members managed to change the colour of their belts; from white to yellow. What an exciting experience!
