FIRST STEP TO PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

November 29, 2006 was a snowy Sunday but it was also the day of the Zone 5 Karate tournament.  With the new approach to provincial team selection by Karate BC, only the top four competitors from each category will advance to the provincial tournament in April to represent the Lower Mainland.  Anyone wanting to make it onto the provincial team must advance through here.

Vincent Wong received a bronze medal in Kata - Men Aged 18+. Kyle Ohori received gold medals in both Kata and Kumite -  Boy Aged 16-17. Henry K.C. Chan, who competed in the Boys Aged 14-15 category, received a gold medal in Kata and a bronze in Kumite.  Eddie Au, who competed in the Men Aged 18+, received a silver in Kumite and bronze in Kata. Hi Canada shoseikan's members,

How are you? I'm fine. But I'm fighting a lot of homework for summer. Thank you very much for all the things you did for me.

This is my first time to Canada. I could really learn so many things that I didn't know while I stayed there. Canada shoseikan is great. Every student is very serious and focused during the training. And I was surprised that their Kiai "oooss!" is very loud. I think that it's very important. I have learned spirit of karate-do from you
again.

I am very appreciated to all shoseikan Canada members taking care of me when I was in Canada. They have never blamed on my poor English. And you were very patient with me I will always remember the good times we had together. I wish I will be able to keep our friendly relations that we made during my stay.

Please came and see me to Japan next in turn. And I'll have studied English more when you come to Japan someday. Thank you very much again.
