A TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR HAS ARRIVED

On Friday, April 6, our newer students got the first taste of what Karate training in Japan is all about. We are pleased to welcome two instructors from Japan, Hayashi Shihan and Kenji Sensei, as well as their travel companions Mrs.Terada and Miss Mina.......

Hayashi Shihan is one of the Budo Kumite Technicial Instructors of Japan Shoseikan. He is very knowledgeable in Kumite training, especially with cat-stance kumite.

This is Kenji Sensei’s second time within the year to visit the Vancouver dojo.  After a brief introduction, Shihan put the students through a fast paced and rigorous lesson. While the techniques and methods are similar between the two countries, having a different perspective makes the lesson that much more memorable.

All guests arrived in Vancouver on April 4 and will be with the dojo until the end of April. We look forward to learning more from them!
