With over 40 people going to the annual Christmas party – more than twice the amount from last year, we knew we had to move the party from the restaurant to the dojo where we will have more room to move about.

The training centre was transformed to a formal banquet hall complete with Christmas lights and decorations.  The guests began to arrive at 7:00pm with presents for the gift exchange on hand.  A couple even came with their karate dogi – now that’s commitment!

The party began with some trivia and prizes to get everyone in the festive mood and then, it was straight into the dinner! Everyone had a great time chatting and enjoying the karate photos which were projected onto one of the walls making everyone much larger than life.

Special thanks to Monica Ohori who made a tantalizing spinach salad and awesome carrot cupcakes. Josephine Hui also stepped in with her famous egg tarts for dessert. As well, a round of applause for Henry, Tommy and Kyle who helped run the party.

The gift exchange was the highlight of the evening as both kids and adults were eager to answer the skill testing questions in order to pick the earliest. With presents that ranged from decadent chocolates and designer soaps to passes to movies and toys with interchangeable parts, picking first was not as easy as it seemed!  In the end, everyone who came got to go home with something special!
