OUR PROGRAMS

Traditional Goju-Ryu Karate-do

We offer Traditional Japan Goju-Ryu Karate training,  for students who are 8 years old or above, boys and girls, men and women.  Our training includes:  Ceremony, Etiquette, Kihon (Basic), Kata (Form), Kumite (Sparring),  Self-defense, Weapons... etc.

Through Karate training, to assist the  students to achieve fitness, confidence, values of respect, harmony,  self-control, discipline and responsibility. In addition, we encourage our  students to participate in Local, Provincial and National Karate tournaments.

In this program, we will train the student the Japanese courtesy included sedentary sitting, standing, ceremony and rituals.

Practice content:
- Preparation exercise / stretching
- Basic (punch, block, kick)
- Moving 
- Kata 
- Kumite
- Physical exercise

We offer this program in the following locations:

Vancouver Marpole Dojo: Monday 7:00pm to 8:30pm and Friday 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Richmond Oval Dojo: Saturday 2:45pm to 4:00pm
Karate Kids Program

This program is designed for children who are from 4 to 7 years old.

Our Karate Kids Program helps your child to develop good movement habits as early as 4 years old. This program is simplified and modified from Traditional Karate and designed to develop the basic value of discipline, respect for others, confidence in themselves and their abilities.  There is absolutely no sparring in this class.
We offer this program in the following locations:

Vancouver Marpole Dojo: Friday 6:00pm to 6:45pm

​Richmond Oval Dojo
: Saturday 2:00pm to 2:45pm
** Please note, some dojo classes are temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19. Please consult with us before visiting.

The following rates and fees is ONLY applied for the Shoseikan Canada West Division. All currency is in Canadian dollars.

* Both Karate BC and Club membership fees are mandatory for all members. It is charged annually on top of the monthly fees. Annual term starts from September 1st to August 31st of the next coming year. 

^ 3 months & 6 months prepaid discount cannot be mixed or combined with other special offers.

# Family rates applies to the 2nd member (from the same family). The lower level becomes the 2nd member while the higher level member paid in regular rate. If going for the prepaid, both members are required to have the same prepaid period.
